Pre-Advent Ramblings – Romans 8.28

It seems as though this year has really flown by and I’ve continually asked myself, “Where is God in this?”… in the good times and not so good times.

I have been getting a lot of mileage out of one of my favorite Bible verses, Romans 8.28, “For we know that all things work together for good to those who love God and are called according to his purpose.”

As Advent and Christmas quickly approach, the more I believe that verse. It hold assurance. It speaks of hope. It speaks of promise.

There can be no doubt that God is at work in all things and that those “things” are usually people; people who God has strategically placed in my life.

Do I see the good in others? Do I sense God’s purpose coming through those who oppose my views, disagree with me, or just plain don’t like me?

May reading, praying, believing and living out Romans 8.28 continue to be a source of inspiration and humility… thanks be to God!
